JOB SUMMARY:
The Lead Tumor Registrar is a Certified Tumor Registrar with a college degree and/or four years Registry experience, responsible for the oversight of the day-to-day operation of the Tumor Registry. Operates the Registry in accordance to the ACoS standards and maintains supportive relationships with physicians and their staff.
JOB RELATIONSHIPS:
A. Responsible to: Administrative Director, Cancer Center
B. Assignments received from: Administrative Director, Cancer Center
C. Nature of supervision received: General supervision from the Clinical Director
D. Position supervised and nature of supervisions given: Delegation of day-to-day activities of Tumor Registry Staff.
E. Interactions with: Patients, hospital personnel, general public, physicians and their Staff, Central Cancer Registry staff, NCDB staff, networking at state and national meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A. Education & Formal Training:
Bachelors Degree in a related field preferred or equivalent experience. Must be certified by the National Cancer Registrars Associations Council as a Certified Tumor Registrar or willing to obtain the certification within one year of hire.
